Stockport Referee Society Bobs Waffle SectionNext Meeting of Stockport Refs

Thursday January 12th January 2012 – usual venue at Stockport County FC – kick-off 7.45 – We are to putting on an “In-House Training Session” at this meeting, Trev Massey is currently preparing something special for us!! As well as the normal banter and footie talk!!

Matches over the Christmas/New Year Period

Stockport Council and the Local Leagues – have agreed that there will be no football matches played over the weekends of 24th/25th December and 31st Dec/1st January – some sort of festive holidays going on I think? That leads nicely onto the following subject, Refs Training;

Refs Training

If you are sitting around doing nothing over the Christmas and New Year and putting on the “fat” – we have the answer – get along to Refs Training!!

Every Monday evening 7.30 to 8.30 at Preistnall Target Fitness Centre, attached to Preistnall School – it will only cost you £3 – all levels of fitness catered for. There is always nearly a dozen of us there, we have a bit of fun, do a bit of a workout, and finish up with a knockabout with a ball – the referee is always a bit iffy though!!

The only Monday that we aren’t training is Boxing Day – 26th – co’s the place is closed!!

Christmas Greetings

I get a bit lax sometimes, and I generally forget to send out Christmas Cards – it has nothing at all to do with being tight – although Our Lass does call me “Arkwright” – its just that I’m trying to save the planet’s trees – so if for some reason you don’t happen to get a card from me, its nothing personal, you’ll be one of many! Can I please wish you all the Very Best for Christmas and the New Year - and thank you all for your support during the last year.

Questionaire from Sunderland University – Alex Meakin.

Somewhere on our wonderful “Stockport Refs website” (Over here: Click this link) is a questionaire from Alex Meakin. Could I please ask if you would have alook for it, and then  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. – I’ll then co-ordinate all the returns and forward them on Sunderland University (they need all the help that they can get them Macums!!) – If we get enough of you doing the questionaire, it is possible that we (Stockport Refs) will have a look at your feelings about refereeing at our January meeting?
