The Bert Thompson Trophy is awarded to the most promising Level 7 – 8 Young Referee.

 
The winner is not soley based on a referee's ability and their refereeing performances throughout the season,
It is also based on -
Informing the committee of future games and subsequent changes so we can come and watch you.
The reliability of turning up to those games and enthusiasm when there.
Attendance & contribution at the monthly meetings.
Finally attendance at training sessions.
 
The Executive Committee has a very hard decision it is each year determine the winner of the trophy.
 
Formerly the George Page Trophy, the competion was first awarded in 1969.
The trophy is now named in memory of Bert Thompson,
a long-standing member of the Society since 1947. (The year the Society was founded)
